How to Set Up TV Apps in Eatster Admin
TV Apps let you display live order tracking screens and digital menuboards on your restaurant's TV. You can configure everything directly from the Devices section in Eatster Admin.
Step 1: Open the Devices Section
Log in to your Eatster Admin.
In the left sidebar, click Devices.
Select the TV Apps tab at the top of the page.
You will see a table of all existing TV apps with columns: Link, Type, Speed, Category Filters, and Status.
Step 2: Add a New TV App
Click the Add button (+ icon) in the top right corner.
A configuration panel will open on the right side.
Step 3: Choose the TV App Type
There are two types of TV apps you can create:
Option A: Tracking Screen
A pure order tracking display. It shows customers the status of their orders in real time, split into two sections:
Preparing (highlighted in restaurant's primary color) — orders currently being made.
Done (displayed in black) — orders ready for pickup.
Order numbers are displayed in blocks. The font size adjusts dynamically: fewer orders = larger text, more orders = smaller text. If there are more orders than fit on one screen, pages rotate automatically.
The tracking screen supports both landscape and portrait orientation.
Settings for Tracking:
Type: Select "Tracking"
Restaurant / Location: Assign the TV app to a specific restaurant or location
Link: Auto-generated (used to open on your TV device)
Option B: Menuboard
A digital menu display that shows your restaurant's items with images, names, and prices. If enabled, it can also include the order tracking section on the right side of the screen.
Settings for Menuboard:
Type: Select "Menuboard"
Restaurant / Location: Assign to a restaurant or location
Default Language: Choose which language the menuboard should display. The restaurant's market language is the default, but you can choose any other language that is configured in the restaurant's settings.
Tracking On/Off: Toggle whether the order tracking section appears alongside the menu. When enabled, menu items appear on the left and order tracking on the right.
Speed (seconds): Set how long each menu page is displayed before automatically scrolling to the next. For example, setting 10 means each slide shows for 10 seconds.
Category Filters: Select which meal categories should be displayed on the menuboard. This is a multiselect field showing all categories from the selected restaurant. Use this to hide categories you don't want to show (e.g., sauces, side dishes).

Step 4: Save and Use the Link
After configuring all settings, click Save.
The system generates a link (URL) for the TV app.
Copy this link and enter it into the browser on your TV device.
Step 5: Set Up Your TV Device
To display the TV app on a physical TV screen:
Use an Android TV or a device with a browser (we recommend Fully Kiosk Browser).
Open the browser and paste the auto-generated link from Step 4.
Set the browser to fullscreen/kiosk mode so the display runs without UI distractions.
The TV app will load and start displaying content automatically.
Editing an Existing TV App
To modify an existing TV app:
Go to Devices → TV Apps.
Click on the TV app row you want to edit.
The settings panel opens on the right. Change any settings as needed.
Click Save. Changes take effect immediately — the TV screen updates in real time via WebSocket.
Deleting a TV App
Go to Devices → TV Apps.
Click the row action menu (three dots) on the TV app you want to remove.
Select Delete and confirm.
