How to Create and Assign Modifiers to a Menu Item

Modifiers allow customers to customize their order according to their preferences — for example, by choosing a size, adding a side dish, selecting a sauce, or adding extra ingredients.

In Eatster Admin, you can create a modifier and then assign it to one or more menu items.

1. Create a Modifier

  1. Log in to Eatster Admin.

  2. Open Modifiers in the top menu.

  3. Click Create Modifier.

A form for creating a new modifier will open.

Configure the modifier according to how customers should be able to make their selection.

Maximum selections
Defines the maximum number of items the customer can select within the modifier.

Minimum selections
Defines the minimum number of items the customer must select.

  • 0 = selection is optional

  • 1 = customer must select at least one item

Charge above
Defines how many selected items are included free of charge.

Example:
If Charge above = 1, the customer can select one item for free. Additional selections can be charged according to the price configured for each item.

Refund under
Defines the number of included items for which the price can be reduced when an item is removed.

Repeatable

Defines whether the customer can select the same item multiple times.

  • Allow multiple quantities of the same item – the same item can be selected more than once, up to the maximum allowed quantity.

  • Allow only one of each item – each item can be selected only once.

2. Add Items to the Modifier

In the Items section, select the items that should be available to customers within the modifier.

Click Add item and search for the required item.

For each item, you can configure:

  • Price (EUR) – additional charge for the item

  • Preselected quantity – number of items automatically selected by default

Example

Modifier:

Choose your sauce

Items:

  • Ketchup – €0.00

  • Garlic sauce – €0.50

  • BBQ sauce – €0.70

  • Cheese sauce – €1.00

3. Save the Modifier

After configuring all parameters, click Update.

The modifier will now be saved and available in the list of modifiers.

Important: Creating a modifier does not automatically assign it to a menu item. The modifier must be assigned to the required menu item separately.
